Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 2026
Welcome to Limitly. This Privacy Policy describes how Limitly ("we", "our", or "the App") handles your data. We are fully committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information remains safe, secure, and entirely under your control.
1. Our Privacy Philosophy
Limitly is built with a privacy-first architecture. We believe your digital habits and screen usage are entirely your business. As a result:
- No Personal Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or transmit your name, email address, phone number, location, or any personally identifiable information (PII).
- Local Data Processing: All screen time monitoring, usage statistics calculation, and restriction enforcement happen strictly on your physical device. We do not have servers that store your application usage logs.
2. Android System Permissions & Data Usage
To function as an effective screen-limiting tool, Limitly requests specific advanced system permissions. Below is an explicit explanation of why these permissions are needed and how the data is handled:
3. Third-Party Services & API Integration
To help motivate you to stay off restricted apps, Limitly uses an artificial intelligence API (such as Claude API) to generate unique, personalized blocking and motivational messages when you hit your limits.
- What we send: When a limit is hit, the App sends only the name of the blocked application and your configured daily limit duration to the AI model to generate a custom block message.
- What we do NOT send: We never send your personal data, real-time usage metrics, browsing history, or device IDs. The API call is stateless and anonymous.
4. Data Retention
Because all configuration data (such as your designated block lists, custom schedules, and daily accumulated limits) is stored locally using standard device preferences (Preferences/Local Storage), deleting or clearing Limitly's app data via your Android System Settings will instantly and permanently erase all saved preferences and usage logs.
5. Children's Privacy
Our app does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13. Parents or guardians utilize our local overlay features to assist with family screen time management, and no children's usage profiles are transmitted online.
6. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be made available by publishing the new policy directly inside the App or on our Play Store distribution channels.
7. Contact & Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic. If you have any questions, feedback, or concerns regarding your privacy while using Limitly, please contact us at:
